Happy Birthday Gubbie!

She is probably going to kill me but here is a shout out to my wonderful Grandmother (whom we call Gubbie). After we flew to the mainland, we left Arkansas the next day to road trip to Illinois to suprise her for her birthday! It worked, she was VERY suprised! Gubbie and Kathy, love you and thank you for the wonderful weekend. It was and always will be a joy to come and visit with you.

Chicago Children's Museum

During our trip to the mainland, we spent a few days up near Chicago visiting with my Grandmother, Aunt, and other family members. We spent time one day in Chicago at the Children's Museum on Navy Pier. It was wonderful to see Jack, Josie, Ethan and Rae playing and having fun in the exhibits. If you are ever up there, you should go!

Ethan's Kindergarten Graduation!

Today, Ethan graduated from Kindergarten. He has had a great year and has come so far in his reading and math! Ethan, we are so proud of you! We can't wait to see what you do next year as a big First Grader!

Nothing sweeter...

I believe there is nothing sweeter than a little girl loving on her Daddy. I snapped these of D and Rae before he left for Korea this week. We won't see him for a month and we hope it goes by fast!

End of the Year Party!

Holy Smokes! My little kindergartener is about to be a first grader! On Friday, we had Ethan's "End of the Year Party" for his class. I chaperoned, so of course Rae got in on all the action. I have to say it was one of those magical days when all the stars align and your kids actually get along...all day. They played together most of the afternoon, even though Ethan was surrounded by all of his school friends. I love to watch them hold hands and especially when he has patience with her. It was a good day!

Makapu'u Hike

On the windward side of the island there is a lighthouse on Makapu'u Point. We have driven by it many times and never stopped, until last Sunday. It is only a mile up and back, but pretty steep. We are proud to anounce that no one had to carry Rachel, she did the whole thing by herself. It was a little rainy, hence the beautiful rainbow behind the kids. The crater in the background of that picture is Koko Head.
Kudos to the Japanese lady who got us in the bottom corner of the picture...ugh.

Ethan's First Race!

This past Saturday (May 8th), Ethan ran his first race (the Jamba Juice Banana Man Chase Keiki Run) down in Honolulu. He got a t-shirt, number, the whole business...including free Jamba Juice and a medal at the finish line. Here are some pictures of him and his friends with the "Banana Man" and running the 500 meters to the finish line. He keeps telling me to find him a new race to run, so I'm guessing he liked it!
