Swamp Romp 2010

This morning Deryck participated in the Kaneohe Marine Corps Swamp Romp. He was on a team of 6 which had to trudge through the mud, run in the sand, and through obstacles...and THEN finish at the same time with arms locked. Over all it was a 5 mile course and a rough one, but these guys did it in an hour and 3 minutes! The pics show how hard it was if you look at their faces as they race towards the finish line. I was so proud of him and can't wait to join the girl team for next year. SO, someone needs to come visit next year right around this time so you can chase our kids while we SWAMP ROMP!
This final picture is of the girl's team. My friend Chasity is on the far right and Pam is in the middle. Chas and Pam taught me how to surf! The girl in the middle of them is Kelly. We ran the Great Aloha Race (8.15 miles) last weekend together.

The Parents Came to Visit!

My Mom and Dad came to visit us at the end of January and stayed 16 days! We had a wonderful time with them. My Mom loved the North Shore and my Dad loved the golfing :) Deryck was able to take a few days off here and there to take my Dad to a bunch of different courses. On those days, my Mom, Rae, and I were able to take in the Botanical Gardens and some shopping. We spent a few days at the beach, did a little snorkleing, and played a ton of cards! We had a wonderful time with them and can't wait for our next set of parents (Deryck's Mom and step-Dad) to come in a couple weeks.

Ethan turned 6!!!

At the end of January, Ethan turned 6 years old! My parents were here to celebrate with us. Ethan was most excited about his new alarm clock he received! We are most excited about his alarm clock because now we can tell him to stay in bed until 6:30!

Getting BIG and Making Friends

I'm back on the blogging bandwagon. We have had some recent visitors and so I have been a tad bit lazy! I just wanted to share some pictures of Ethan and Rae. We were out by the harbor for Ethan's baseball pictures when I snapped these. It is really neat to see how much they love each other. Don't get me wrong, there are days when it seems they fight all day. But for the most part, they have a wonderful time together and are very affectionate towards each other. The last picture is of Ethan and Rae's new friends Kanye and Ava. They are brother and sister, they go to Ethan's school, and Kanye is on E's baseball team. We have become good friends with their Mom (their Dad is out on a submarine right now). It was nice having them over for dinner one night, which is when we took this pic.
